Going Over

The Brief

Exchange Enterprises commissioned Sledge Film and Video to produce a Department of Health funded film to support the department's OD campaign. The video needed to be visually strong and well paced in order to attract and hold the attention of the audience (primarily drug users or their associates), offering guidance on what to do when someone overdoses. As well as educating the audience as to the neutral stance of the emergency services in such situations, the video had to tie in with current printed materials and provide memorable, visual instructions on how to put someone in the recovery position.

The Solution

Going Over takes the form of a dynamic, strongly coloured almost pop-video-like film, with the pace and strength of the visuals designed to attract and hold the attention of the audience. In keeping with the pop video format, the length of the piece is under 5 minutes and, like a pop song, it uses repetition and hooks to deliver its core messages.

The Result

Going Over’s impact and emotive approach earned the film 6 awards at the IVCA‘s, including Gold for Best Drama, Best Educational Film and Best Editing.
