O2 5th Anniversary

The Brief

In 2006, O2 acquired the naming and sponsorship rights of the former Millennium Dome. Following this, O2 briefed Sledge to bring The O2 to life with the 'biggest and best' party O2 had ever seen. The party included 17,000 guests and staff and coincided with O2's 5th anniversary. As part of the wider brief, Sledge Film and Video was asked to produce a film to mark the occasion.

The Solution

Prior to the event, Sledge Film and Video interviewed O2 employees and a number of individuals that had played a key part in O2's five year history. The interviewee's accounts were linked together as part of a cutting edge animated piece that we felt best reflected the O2 brand and the spirit of the occasion. The video was used to open the main show and launch "The O2 Premiere" event within the arena. It was also an opportunity to engage and inspire employees, as well as rewarding them for all their hard work over the first five fantastic years of O2.

The Results

The video contributed to a hugely successful event which saw an immediate boost in staff morale, team work and affiliation to O2; with 90% of staff claiming the day made them feel proud to be a part of the company and left them motivated to go on and recommend O2 to a customer.
