X Factor Fever

The Brief 

The Carphone Warehouse appointed Sledge to create and implement a company wide talent search to raise awareness of their sponsorship of The X Factor TV show. As part of the wider campaign, Sledge Film and Video was briefed to produce a campaign video.

The Solution

As well as creating a bespoke internal website to support The X Factor Fever campaign, Sledge organised various launch events, with video support, at staff locations around the UK.

The aim of the events was to launch an online singing competition, encouraging staff at The Carphone Warehouse to upload clips of themselves singing and ultimately leading to an internal vote that would give 3 acts the opportunity to perform live on stage in a VIP day at Fountain Studios – the official home of The X Factor.

Sledge Film and Video dispatched a multi-camera crew to cover all aspects of the VIP day, including the recording of the live performances and the capturing of behind the scenes footage.

Working with the team at Fountain Studios, Sledge built an authentic, high quality video package. Sledge then edited this package to include the launch footage and a number of specially recorded to camera pieces from Simon Cowell and Dermot O’Leary, creating an overall campaign video for online viewing by The Carphone Warehouse’s employees.    

The Results

The feedback we received throughout the project was incredibly positive, with some staff members stating that this experience had been life changing! The videos produced continue to be used as part of an internal communication strategy and will continue to add support to The Carphone Warehouse’s ongoing sponsorship of The X Factor show.
